First Baptist Paducah is more than just a building where people get together and sing songs and listen to sermons. We’re a family who truly cares about those in our family and those who are unable to be with us for various reasons at various times during their lives.
Whether we’re providing one-on-one, couples’ or family counseling to our members, visiting one of our shut-ins at home or sitting at the bedside of someone in the hospital, it is our goal to show the love of Christ to those in our community. We also stay connected to our family through nursing home visitation, providing handmade prayer shawls for ladies in our church who have been hospitalized, and delivering flowers to shut-ins and the local nursing homes after our Sunday services. In addition we attempt to walk with our family through the grief process, including making available a meal at the church for members of our family.
Part of caring for our family happens through celebrations including a quilt made by one of our church members at the birth of a new baby.
We are passionate about extending grace to others that Jesus has extended to all of us. When you experience God’s grace and his mercy it’s impossible not to want to spread that love to others. That’s what we hope to do in our pastoral care of this community of believers.
