We believe there is a connection between faith and reason. There are certainly some things that Christians must accept on faith alone, but there are also logical arguments that defend our beliefs. It’s our desire at First Baptist Paducah to equip our teachers to teach the truth of God’s word clearly, to tackle complex faith issues and to offer insight and knowledge about challenging theological issues to those whom they teach.
The more we understand God’s word and the more we grow in His truth, the better we are able to love the people God has placed in our lives and to confidently speak the truth of the gospel in love.
GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. - 2 Peter 3:18
Every believer has received a spiritual gift from God. Gifts come in all varieties. Some are artists. Some are teachers. Some are still trying to figure out where God desires to use them. No matter what we find ourselves doing, whether in our careers or within the church, we want to always use our gifts to glorify God and to love others well. We want to be authentic people. We want to be a blessing to our communities and to our families. Through our actions, it is our hope that the true gospel will be demonstrated.
SHOW that you are a letter from Christ ... written ... with the Spirit of the living God. - 2 Corinthians 3:3
We take Jesus’s command to go out and make disciples of all of the nations very seriously (Matthew 28:19-20). We look for opportunities at home, in our communities, in our country and overseas, to tell others the good news that God’s grace is sufficient for them (2 Corinthians 12:9) and that they, too, can live in the freedom of Jesus Christ.
GO ... and make disciples of all nations. - Matthew 28:19
