Rev. Charles R. Moore, Jr. was called to serve as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Paducah in May 2013, and began his ministry here in July 2013. Beyond the state of Kentucky, Charles has pastored congregations in California, Illinois, and North Carolina.
Pastor Charles first sensed a call to pastoral ministry while a student at the University of Kentucky College of Law. In addition to his juris doctorate, he holds degrees from U.K. and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Charles is passionate about preaching God’s Word, and generally delivers expository sermons as he teaches though books of the Bible. He is committed to the relevant and practical application of Scripture to real life.
Charles appreciates being a part of Paducah and sharing with our community Christ’s good news. He has enjoyed numerous opportunities to serve people through Christian mission and relief work in Armenia, Bosnia, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Haiti, Mexico, Romania, Taiwan, and Uganda. Pastor Charles wants everything he does to be marked by grace and truth (John 1:14).
Charles is married to Eileen Coffey Moore, his best friend and partner in life and ministry for over two decades. Eileen is a devoted wife and mom, who now works part-time as a staff attorney for the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Kentucky. Pastor Charles and Eileen delight in the joy of raising one wonderful son, Joshua Garrett Moore, who is a high school student at Community Christian Academy. The Moore Family seeks to honor the Lord Jesus Christ by loving each other, and their treasured church family, well.
